Consultation

The consultation stage is a collaborative process between you and our designer and all relevant information is gathered from you to ensure your expectations are met. Guidance is offered at all times.

What inspires you? What practical purposes will the landscape need to fulfil? What is the location and size of the area? What is the project budget? These are just some of the important considerations in the design and construction of the garden landscape.

Once we have an overview of your requirements, Origin Landscapes provides a written estimate for the cost of the design. On acceptance of this and based on our discussions, a contract describing the design services and costs is drafted. Following this is the working procedure outlined in the 'Design' section.

Design

The aim of the design process is to ensure that your needs and ideas are reflected in the completed design.

This process is simple yet comprehensive, allowing you to view the direction the new landscape is taking. Throughout the process, I provide ideas and suggestions based on our discussions that lend towards creating a unique and beautiful landscape.

The first design step, following the initial consultation and acceptance of the contract, is the production of the primary concept plan. This plan is based on a design brief formed in consultation with you and an extensive site survey. In the brief, we cover factors such as your needs, location, theme, house style and any other information required for the creation of the landscape. We welcome any magazines, photos or other sources of inspiration you may want to refer to.

The concept plan is designed to scale and reflects all that has been discussed. This helps you visualise the landscape and its features. I ask that a critical eye is passed over the plan as any queries about the design are addressed at this point.

Once the concept plan is finalised, and depending on the nature of the contract, preparation of all other plans follow. These may include a hard landscaping plan, planting plan, elevations, construction diagrams or a retaining plan. These plans provide the necessary supporting information for the successful construction of the proposed landscape.

Quotation

Once the design process is completed and you are satisfied with the result, a further quotation contract is drafted for the construction of the landscape. This details the costing of all major categories of construction. Upon formal acceptance of the contract Origin Landscapes initiate the construction of your landscape.

Project management

Origin Landscapes is responsible for the project's management from start to finish. This involves the sourcing and supplying of quality materials and managing professional sub-contractors. Justin was introduced by a mutual friend when my badly overgrown back garden needed a change. I was delighted by the result. Justin's design made the most of the space and flowed so well from the house - exactly what I had hoped for. It was a major job because new walls and extensive paving was involved, as well as removal of old garden beds and some trees. Justin and his team were a pleasure to have - cheerful, skilful and helpful. Even my dogs loved him!

We recently engaged Justin's company Origin Landscapes to design and construct our new landscaped garden. From our first meeting we knew that we had chosen a professional in his field to carry out this work. The design was of the highest quality, clearly given us an idea of what our proposed garden was going to look like. The quality of his workmanship was first rate not to mention his attention to detail. We are truly thrilled with the end result and look forward to working with Justin and his team on our next project.

Our garden was old and dated. Having extensively renovated a 1950's house, we wanted a garden to enhance our new home. In consultation with us, Justin from Origin Landscapes designed and constructed a garden which is beautiful by day and night, is easy to maintain and complements our home. Origin Landscapes has transformed something dull and boring into a spectacular oasis which we are delighted with.
